APATITE-(CaOH)   Ellacoya Locale, Gilford, NH
1.2 mm clear apatite crystal with internal reflections

Species:           APATITE-(CaOH)
Locality:          Ellacoya Locale, Gilford, NH
Specimen Size: 1.2 mm clear apatite crystal with internal reflections
Field Collected: Tom Mortimer
Catalog No.: u606
Notes: A polished grain EDS analysis indicated the hydroxylapatite species. No fluorine was detected by detector with good light element sensitivity down to carbon. The large peak in the plot at 277 eV is due to the carbon coating of the specimen block.

SPHALERITE20   Pike Hooksett Quarry, Hooksett, NH
1.7 mm field of view

Species:           SPHALEITE

ACTINOLITE   Ellacoya Locale, Gilford, NH
1.2 mm field of view

Species:           ACTINOLITE
Locality:          Ellacoya Locale, Gilford, NH
Specimen Size: 1.2 mm field of view
Field Collected: Tom Mortimer
Catalog No.: u2256
Notes: A polished grain EDS analysis (BC257) indicated actinolite. The APFU calculated from this analysis is Ca2(Mg2.1,Fe1.77,Al0.22)Si7.7O16.2 normalized for 2 Ca. The trace of neon is a bogie.
From analysis Mg/(Mg+Fe) = 0.55. This ratio must be less than 0.5 for ferroactinolite. So this is close to ferroactinolite.

URANINITE   Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH
3 mm co-joined uraninite crystal pair

Species:           URANINITE
Locality:          Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH
Specimen Size: 3 mm co-joined uraninite crystal pair
Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19
Catalog No.: No matrix crysal became micromount on post.
Notes: This crystal pair popped off the matrix when I attempted to trim the two inch specimen down. I was able to mount one of these crystals (plus another that was behind this group) onto toothpick posts. True micromounts.

APATITE   Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH
3 mm crystal in albite vug

Species:           APATITE
Locality:          Charles Davis Mine, N. Groton, NH
Specimen Size: 3 mm crystal in albite vug
Field Collected: Tom Mortimer - 8/19
Catalog No.: u2258
Notes: "C" axis termination points to 2 o'clock. Fluoresces pale orange-yellow.
Apatite is uncommon at Charles Davis and is not listed for Charles Davis on mindat. I think this is first I have seen from there, (and not a particularly good one by NH standards). For those reasons, I thought worthy of a photo.
